It is with great excitement that AuSPEN can invite our members and collaborators back to a face-to-face conference in 2022. And I look forward to catching up with everyone in Melbourne from 17 -19 November.
The theme is 'Back to the Future – Learning from adversity and moving towards a brighter future for clinical nutrition'. AuSPEN recognises the great strain that everyone has been through in the past 2 years, and that our clinical nutrition professionals are keen to look towards the future. So while this conference will explore the role of nutrition in times of adversity, it will also look to the future for emerging innovations and therapies that have the potential to change clinical practice.
We are thrilled to announce our international guest speaker, Professor Paul Wischmeyer. Professor Wischmeyer is an Anaesthesiologist and Director of the Nutrition team at Duke University Hospital. He will share his wealth of clinical and research experience in critical care and perioperative nutrition but most importantly will share his experience as a patient.
The conference and workshops will be held at the iconic Crown Conference Centre. Thursday will feature practical workshops, our very popular paediatric symposium and ESPEN Life Long Learning courses. For the first time, we will also be running a half-day Home Parenteral Nutrition Symposium. The main program will include our invited international speaker Professor Paul Wischmeyer, who will be present at the conference and local and international speakers. Some speakers will virtually zoom in to join us for their session.
Registration will open soon, so pack your bags, and we look forward to seeing you in Melbourne, where we can put the past two years behind us and look to the future!
