This years ESPEN Congress is about 'Nutrition - a highway to health’. As reflected from the present collection of articles published between 2017 and 2019 in EJCN that 'highway' is not only about individual nutrients, foods or dietary patterns, it is also about sustainability and a new agriculture addressing both the nutritional as well as the ecological aspects of our diets. In addition, going on on this 'highway to health' challenges some of today's cultural, social, economic and political issues. Thus, nutrition has become a hot and central topic to be addressed for a better future of human health, of our societies and of our planet.
